Significantly, Goer is the second horse to be inducted into the Cal-Western Hall of Fame that is also in the Appaloosa Horse Club Hall of Fame. Bred by Ron & Dell Kavanagh of Herald, California, he was owned the rest of his life by Tom Simmons (later co-owned by Jim & Carol Nylund of Colorado). His personal show record includes National Champion Three Year Old Stallion in 1976, a Bronze Medallion in Halter, National Get of Sire Champion in 1980, 1985 and 1993, and world Get of Sire Champion in 1985. His Cal-Western record is 155 lifetime halter points. He was Leading Sire of Halter Horses in 1979, 1980, 1984 and 1988, and Leading Sire of Performance Horses in 1984. With 721 registered foals through December of 1995, Goer was nationally recognized as the all-time leading sire of Appaloosa foals. His get have won to that date, 48 Bronze Medallions, 2 Silver Medallions and 11 Superior Achievements nationally with a lifetime total of over 12,500 national points. "Goers", known for their pretty heads, are sought after by breeders today.
